Digital Desk: Covid-19 instances are rapidly growing in Kerala after a four-month
hiatus; although many of the symptoms are mild, patients turn negative quickly,
and hospitalization rates are low, according to health officials, who added
that the state's health ministry had begun an aggressive vaccination program.
The state recorded 3,162 new cases, 12 deaths, and 18,345 active cases on Thursday. The tally on Friday will be available after 8 p.m. The state is currently responsible for the bulk of Covid-19 fatalities in the country. India reported 12,847 new cases and 14 deaths on Friday. The national test positivity rate is 2.47 percent, while it has surpassed 15% in Kerala. Maharashtra has reported the largest number of cases, followed by Kerala.

According to the health ministry, booster doses should not be
skipped. It stated that most people assume they have obtained adequate immunity
after two doses; however, this is inaccurate. The ministry has also initiated a
special immunization campaign for booster doses. "Those who have already
gotten both doses do not need to take the precautionary dose." This is not
a good pattern. The majority of those who died, according to statistics, were
unvaccinated and had concomitant conditions, according to the ministry.
"An in-depth analysis of statistics suggests that the
number of cases is steadily increasing. There's no need to be alarmed, but we
must be cautious. Masks, hand sanitization, and physical separation appear to
have been overlooked, according to N C Krishna Prasad, who has been processing
Covid-19 data since the outbreak began two years ago.
