The flyover, built at a cost of over Rs 316 crore, will be a lifeline for visitors to the state zoo and Janata Bhawan, reducing travel time by at least 50%.
The RG Baruah road connects two main roads in the city: the 146-year-old GS Road, which was built during the British administration, and the MRD Road.
The two-lane flyover also has an arm extension from the Zoo Road Tiniali point on Mother Teresa Road towards Geetanagar. The distance from the Commerce point to Sundarpur is 1.98 kilometres, and the arm is 300 metres long. Construction of the flyover began in 2021.
Earlier, CM Sarma took to Twitter and shared the bird-view pictures on X account.
