The International Cricket Council (ICC) has urged the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) to thoroughly investigate the event of ticketless crowds trying to get into the stadium for the Pakistan-Afghanistan T20 World Cup 'Super 12' match on Friday.
More than 16,000 tickets were issued for the night game between Pakistan and Afghanistan. But, thousands of ticketless fans went to the venue and then tried to make their entry into the stadium, the ICC stated in a statement.
Dubai Police and safety staff guaranteed the stadium to protect everyone inside. They brought in significant additional help to disperse the crowd and soothe the condition.

ICC further stated, "At around 7pm (8.30 pm IST), Dubai Police instructed that all doors should remain closed. No further entry was authorized to manage a secure and controlled scene inside the venue."
"The ICC has urged the ECB to begin a thorough investigation. It has asked team to work closely to assure that such situation is not repeated in the future."
The ICC, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and England and Wales Cricket Board(ECB) apologized to fans. They have apologized to those fans who were unable to enter despite having valid tickets.
