Anurag Maloo was discovered alive and in severe condition three days after going missing on Nepal's Mount Annapurna...

Digital Desk: Anurag Maloo, an Indian climber who went missing on Monday after plunging into a deep crevasse on Nepal's Mount Annapurna, has been found alive and in critical condition by rescuers, the report was provided by his brother.

Anurag aged 34 years of Kishangarh, Rajasthan, went missing on Monday after falling from 6,000 metres while descending from Camp III. Mount Annapurna is the world's tenth-tallest peak.

"He was discovered alive. "He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but he is still alive," his brother, Sudhir Maloo, mentioned.

"We'll have to shift our focus now to the medical side," Sudhir added.

According to Sudhir, the rescue crew that went hunting for him in the crack he had fallen into found and rescued him.

Anurag was discovered alive by seven Nepali climbers 300 metres down into a crevasse, according to the Myrepublica news page.

Following the report, he was evacuated to Pokhara's Manipal Hospital.

As stated by Mingma Sherpa, Chairman of Seven Summit Treks, a team of six Sherpa climbers led by Chhang Dawa performed a ground search and located him in a 300m deep crevasse on Thursday morning.

Adam Bielecki, a well-known Polish climber, and a friend also joined the ground search and rescue effort to find Anurag. "His condition is very critical," hospital sources verified to The Himalayan Times.

"The rescue team included 9 Nepalese climbers and the two Polish alpinists," sports writer Angela Benavides stated on Twitter. According to accounts, three Nepalese and one Polish climber entered the crevasse and discovered (Anurag) Maloo still alive. The rest of the Sherpa crew then dragged them out."    "The team operated in rapidly worsening weather, at one of the mountain's most dangerous spots, with frequent avalanches," she stated.

Due to terrible weather, evacuation to Kathmandu was not an option, but pilots were able to fly Anurag to Manipal Hospital in Pohkara, she added.

Meanwhile, Kishangarh MLA Suresh Tak stated that he was in frequent contact with the Maloo family. On Thursday, he also travelled to see his father, Omprakash, and other family members.

When Anurag's family learned of his recovery, they breathed a sigh of relief. They claimed that Anurag had got a new life. They are still nervous because of his precarious condition.

According to a family relative, Anurag graduated from IIT Delhi in 2010.

Anurag is on a quest to climb all 14 peaks above 8000 metres and the seven highest points on each of the seven continents in order to raise awareness and motivate action towards the UN Global Goals.

He was given the REX Karam- Veer Chakra and was named India's 2041 Antarctic Youth Ambassador.
