Digital Desk: The Kerala State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR) investigated the death of an 11-year-old boy in Kannur after he was mauled by stray dogs. The child rights organisation stated that it will petition the Supreme Court for authorization to kill the dangerous stray dogs.

The occurrence was described as "tragic and heart-wrenching" by KV Manoj Kumar, Chairman of the KSCPCR, and the commission would investigate whether there were any errors on the part of the authorities. "We want to protect children, not dogs." "Children and the general public should be protected," he said.

"The Commission will do everything possible within its jurisdiction." A case has been filed at this time. "The commission is looking into three more cases involving children being attacked by dogs," Kumar added.

The Kerala State Human Rights Commission (KSHRC) has already interfered in the case. According to a PTI report, both commissions opened their own investigations into the incident and demanded a full report from the Muzhappilangad grama panchayat within two weeks.

According to KV Manoj Kumar, the child rights panel requested detailed reports from the Secretary of Local Self Government, the Secretary of the District Panchayat, and the SHO of the Edakkad Police within two weeks.
