Digital Desk: In a significant demonstration of commitment to the safety of the nation's youth, 132 National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets are being safely evacuated from Imphal to Guwahati and Jorhat by the Indian Air Force (IAF).


The cadets, who were attending the North Eastern Region (NER) Flying Camp from May 11 to 20, 2026, were airlifted due to the prevailing security situation and road movement restrictions in the region.


The evacuation was meticulously planned and executed by the NCC Directorate NER, in consultation with the Directorate General NCC and in close coordination with the Headquarters Eastern Air Command of the IAF.


This swift response and seamless coordination ensured the safe and timely arrival of all cadets at their destinations, enabling them to arrive for their scheduled academic examinations without delay.


The initiative has brought immense relief and reassurance to parents and guardians across the region, many of whom had expressed concern over the evolving situation and transportation challenges.


The successful evacuation stands as a testament to the professionalism, preparedness and people-centric approach of the armed forces and NCC authorities.
