Digital Desk: Amid the spike in covid cases in the country, the Uttar Pradesh government has imposed a night curfew in the state from tomorrow onwards. Reportedly, the curfew time is imposed from 11 pm to 5 am.
The UP government has also allowed only 200 people at marriage ceremonies and social functions, following the covid-19 protocols.
Sources quoted that chief minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered all the shopkeepers to follow the ‘no mask, o goods’ policy.
Moreover, the government has also ordered the district authorities to keep track of the covid tests of the travellers arriving in Uttar Pradesh from abroad and other states.
Moreover, it said to give more emphasis at the railway and bus stations.

On Thursday, the UP reported thirty-one new cases of covid-19 and two cases of Omicron.
Notably, the decision of curfew by the Uttar Pradesh government comes a day after the Allahabad High Court requested the Election Commission to postpone the Assembly poll, which is due in two months.
Meanwhile, the court also appeals to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ban the election-related gatherings in the state.
On Thursday, the Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am with immediate effect. Notably, the state didn’t record any omicron cases till now.
Announcing the night curfew, the MP chief minister said that despite zero omicron cases in the state, we have decided to impose night curfew from today as people of Maharashtra, Delhi and Gujarat keeps coming in our state, that reported Omicron cases.
“So far, Omicron has reached in 16 states of the country and it cannot be said that it will not enter in Madhya Pradesh. So, it is better to take preventive measures earlier than to regret later,” he said.
As per official report, the country has crossed the 300 mark of Omicron cases taking the tally to 358.
Maharashtra topped the position with 88 cases, followed by Delhi, Telangana with 38, Tamil Nadu 34, Karnataka with 31, and Gujarat with 30. Moreover, states including Kerala, Rajasthan, Haryana, Odisha, J&K, Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Ladakh and Uttarakhand have also recorded Omicron cases.
Earlier, the Central government warns all the states and Union Territories (UT) about the new covid variant.
In its letter, it stated that according to scientific findings, Omicron is three times more contagious than the Delta variant.
So, it asked all the states and UTs to resume their night curfew, impose strict restrictions on public gatherings, and bring down the number of marriage functions.
Moreover, the letter also asked all the states and UTs to activate covid war rooms and closely track the Omicron cases.
Significantly, the Assam government has not taken measures to combat the new variant.
Earlier, minister Keshav Mahanta said, “As Omicron has not been detected in Assam till now, so there is no need of lockdown or curfew at present.”
The question arises amid the spike of omicron cases in the country: Is Assam dont need curfew or lockdown?
Notably, according to government-issued guidelines, there is a curfew in Guwahati city; however, sadly, it remains in pen and paper only.
