On the first part of his trip to three European countries, the Prime Minister touched down at Germany's Berlin-Brandenburg airport earlier this morning. PM Modi expressed optimism that the visit would strengthen the bond between India and Germany upon his arrival.

Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Germany following the first day of his three-day trip around Europe. The Indian diaspora in Berlin gave him a hearty welcome.

PM Modi will meet with newly appointed Chancellor Olaf Scholz for the first time in person while in Germany. The 6th India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations will be co-chaired by PM Modi and Olaf Scholz (IGC).

At the Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin, where Indians were waiting for him, PM Modi greeted them. When the Prime Minister arrived at the hotel, many kids were there with their parents, raising their hands. Upon seeing the Prime Minister, the crowd began to chant "Vande Mataram" and "Bharat Mata ki Jai."

The PM also spoke with a young girl who gave him a picture of his face. He autographed the portrait for the young woman who described him as her icon and posed for a photo with her.

On the first part of his trip to three European countries, the Prime Minister touched down at Germany's Berlin-Brandenburg airport earlier this morning. PM Modi expressed optimism that the visit would strengthen the bond between India and Germany upon his arrival.

Modi, in his tweet, stated, "In Berlin, I arrived. I'll be speaking at a community programme, connecting with business leaders, and conversing with Chancellor @OlafScholz today. This visit, I'm sure, will strengthen ties between India and Germany."

Following the 6th IGC, PM Scholz will speak with both countries' top CEOs at a high-level roundtable. PM Modi will also address the Indian diaspora in Germany.

Since 2001, there has been a "Strategic Partnership" between India and Germany, strengthened through three intergovernmental consultations (IGC). PM Modi and German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, who visited India, co-chaired the previous IGC.

From October 31 to November 1, 2019, the fifth IGC round took place. But unfortunately, the COVID-19 epidemic caused a delay in the consultations.

During his bilateral and multilateral talks, there will be a significant and thorough schedule for PM Modi's three-nation trip.

According to sources, PM Modi is also scheduled to visit Denmark on Tuesday to hold talks with leaders from Nordic countries. The visit will conclude with a stopover in Paris on Wednesday, where the Prime Minister will meet the newly re-elected French President Emmanuel Macron.
