Digital Desk: On Friday, Ravindra Jadeja broke Bishan Singh Bedi's long-standing record as India's most successful left-arm spinner in Test cricket. This extraordinary performance occurred on the third day of the India vs. Australia World Test Championship final when Jadeja dismissed first innings centurions Steve Smith and Travis Head.

With 267 wickets in 65 Tests, he has an economy rate of 2.44 and an average of 24.25. In comparison, Bedi has 266 wickets in 67 games.

The 33-year-old all-rounder is now rated as Test cricket's fourth-best left-arm spinner. He trails Rangana Herath of Sri Lanka, who has an astounding 433 wickets in 93 matches, Daniel Vettori of Italy, who has 362 wickets in 113 matches, and Derek Underwood of England, who has 297 wickets in 86 matches.

The all-rounder has been in outstanding form during the game's longest format in 2023. In just five games, he amassed 183 runs at an amazing average of 30.50. Additionally, he has a score of 150, and his highest mark to date is 70.

He has also claimed 25 wickets at a remarkable average of 19.84 and a 2.63 economy rate. In particular, his bowling figures of 7/42 in a single innings were his best performance of the year.
