Digital Desk: Guwahati: The much-anticipated Rukminigaon–Downtown flyover, constructed at a cost of approximately ₹111 crore, is set to be officially inaugurated on Sunday, 6th July. Surprisingly, the project was completed in only 9 months, much earlier than the targeted  18 months.

However, even before its official opening, issues have arisen over the vandalism and misuse of the new infrastructure. Empty bottles of alcohol are seen scattered in the middle of the flyover, and stains of gutkha are also seen disfiguring the freshly painted white-colored walls and dividers.

The disappointments that have arisen against negligent attitudes have raised the question of the greatest responsibility of society and the desire to take more rigid measures in order to preserve the entire infrastructure of the city with care in terms of both maintenance and control.
