Guwahati: Centre has lately announced the withdrawal of farm laws, which brought additional concerns among farmers and those who supported the farm laws repeal.
However, even after the approval of farm laws repeal, farmer unions have continued their protest. Why are farmers not convinced with the decision of the Centre's withdrawal of farm laws?
Can it be said that farmers protesting for their rights cannot hold a certainty term for the words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ruling government?
On Sunday, Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait stated that demonstrations would continue unless the government guaranteed MSP.
Leader Tikait added, "The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Central Government must bring a legislation to guarantee a Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops to protect the interests of farmers in the country."
There were around 700 farmers who have lost their lives while protesting for their freedoms and equity. Now, the farmer unions are in the demand of providing compensation for these deceased farmers.
Farmer Unions have stated that a significant concern for the government is providing financial help for deceased farmers' families. Unless government initiates compensations, the protest will continue.
