New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced an 18-man Indian squad for the Test series against South Africa, scheduled to start from December 26 at the SuperSport Park, Centurion. The series will form a part of the new cycle of the ICC World Test Championship.

The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg and Newlands in Cape Town will host the two matches.

Virat Kohli will lead the series and Rohit Sharma has been made the vice-captain.

Earlier, the series was scheduled to begin on December 17, but due to the emergence of Omicron, it was rescheduled later.

Virat Kohli (captain), Rohit Sharma (vice-captain), KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant (wk), Wriddhiman Saha (wk), R Ashwin, Jayant Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, Mohammad Siraj, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav.

Stand-by players are- Navdeep Saini, Saurabh Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Arzan Nagwaswalla
