The Sri Lanka Cricket Board informed the ACC that due to the country's current economic and political situation, it is unable to host the upcoming Asia Cup T20.

Digital Desk: The Asia Cup, which was supposed to be held in Sri Lanka, has drifted to the UAE, according to BCCI president Sourav Ganguly.

"The Asia Cup will be held in the UAE because it is the only place where it will not rain," Ganguly told reporters after the Board's Apex Council meeting.

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) informed the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Wednesday that the board will be unable to host the upcoming Asia Cup T20 due to the country's economic and political crisis.

The SLC recently decided to postpone the third season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) in response to the ongoing crisis.

The Asia Cup, which will be played in the T20 format, is scheduled to take place from August 27 to September 11.
