Digital Desk: The state vice-president of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Assam, has tendered his resignation from the party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, which is a significant blow to the party's state branch.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) withdrew their candidate from the Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency in Assam earlier in a major political development.

However, in the upcoming elections, the party will run candidates from the Sonitpur and Dibrugarh seats.

In the meantime, the opposition has already declared Lurinjyoti Gogoi, the leader of the AJP, as their joint candidate from Dibrugarh, indicating a united front against the ruling party.

A related development that raises the possibility of a change in the political environment is Bhupen Borah's letter urging the AAP, CPI, and CPI(M) to work together for the 2026 State Elections.
