The ALA Principal Secretary asked all the employees to maintain the dress code and timings on duty in an official order on November 4.

“All employees should attend office on all working days with formal attire for women like salwar suit, saree, mekhela chador and formal trouser and shirt for men. Traditional attire of any community of assam could be worn every Wednesday if employees choose to do so, the order which was issued at the directive of Speaker Biswajit Diamary stated.

The order further stated, “all employees irrespective of rank should wear office uniform to be prescribed and provided by the Secretariat mandatorily during the Assembly session and any other formal occasions/ programme or when decided by the competent authority.

It also said that "any employee who fails to comply with the above-mentioned instructions shall be subject to strict action." Furthermore, any employees who fail to perform the required hours would have their monthly compensation deducted."

The instruction also specified the employees' attendance and work schedules.
