A police officer was caught red-handed in an alleged extramarital affair
Digital Desk: A major embarrassment has hit the Assam Police after an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), identified as Sanjeev Gayari, was caught red-handed in an alleged extramarital affair.
It occurred at the quarters of Rupnath Brahma Civil Hospital in Kokrajhar, where Gayari was caught in a compromising position with a ward girl late Wednesday night. He is stationed in Dhubri district, but previously he worked in Kokrajhar.
His wife reportedly caught him in the act, locked the door from outside, and informed the police. The excitement also drew the locals to the scene. Later, police arrived and took both individuals to Kokrajhar Sadar Police Station for questioning.
This incident has sparked a great deal of uproar and called into question the actions of the police officer. The departmental action will be anticipated as the investigation progresses.
