He denied media claims from Pakistan saying that India will visit its neighbour, as claimed by that nation's sports minister, Ehsan Mazari, in some circles.

Digital Desk: The eagerly anticipated Asia Cup matches between India and Pakistan will take place in Sri Lanka because the team led by Rohit Sharma won't visit Pakistan, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal announced on Wednesday.

Dhumal, who is in Durban for the ICC Chief Executives Meet (CEC), revealed that the BCCI secretary Jay Shah and the head of the PCB delegate Zaka Ashraf met to settle the agenda before the ICC Board meeting on Thursday.

"Our secretary met with PCB chief Zaka Ashraf and the Asia Cup schedule was finalised and is proceeding as previously stated. Four league stage games will be played in Pakistan, followed by nine games in Sri Lanka, including an India-Pakistan match and, if necessary, a third game if both teams get to the final, Dhumal told PTI from Durban.

He denied media claims from Pakistan saying that India will visit its neighbour, as claimed by that nation's sports minister, Ehsan Mazari, in some circles.

"Such a conversation didn't take place. Despite recent allegations to the contrary, neither India nor our secretary will be visiting Pakistan. Only the schedule was finalised, according to Dhumal.

In Dambulla, Sri Lanka, India will likely face Pakistan, the same as they did in the 2010 match. Pakistan will play Nepal at home in their only home match.

The other three games are Afghanistan vs Bangladesh, Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, and Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan.
