Digital Desk: Another feather added to India's Golden Boy and Tokyo Olympics gold medallist Neeraj Chopra's achievement hat, For the first time in his career, Neeraj Chopra has risen to the top of the men's javelin throw standings.

With 1455 points, Neeraj Chopra surpassed the reigning world champion Anderson Peters of Grenada. Anderson finished second with 1433 points.

Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic, who won silver at the Tokyo Olympics, finished third with 1416 points.

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) announced Chopra's achievement on Twitter. "India's Golden Boy is now World No. 1," wrote the SAI. @Neeraj_chopra1 achieves a career-high ranking to become World No. 1 in the Men's Javelin Throw event. Congratulations, Neeraj!"


Last year, the Neeraj won the Diamond League Final in Zurich, becoming the first Indian to accomplish it. The ace Javelin thrower won the competition with a throw of 88.44 metres on his second attempt.

Upcoming on the list, On June 4, Neeraj will compete at the Fanny Blankers-Koen Games in the Netherlands.
