Sukesh described the train catastrophe as an "unfortunate mishap" and stated that the tragedy had greatly affected him. "My heart and prayers are with all of those sisters and brothers, as well as their families," he stated.

Digital Desk: Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is facing many extortion charges, has written to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw requesting permission to donate Rs 10 crore for victims of the Odisha train catastrophe.

Sukesh stated in a letter to the minister that the gift is from his own money, which is derived from his "legitimate source" of income.

Sukesh, who is currently incarcerated, stated that the amount will be used to educate children whose parents died in the disaster.

This month's terrible triple-train collision in Odisha's Balasore killed 288 people and injured nearly 1,200 more. After Railways recommended it, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) launched an investigation into the disaster.

Sukesh described the train catastrophe as an "unfortunate mishap" and stated that the tragedy had greatly affected him. "My heart and prayers are with all of those sisters and brothers, as well as their families," he stated.

'RESPONSIBLE AND GOOD CITIZEN'

"As our government is already providing all that is necessary to the affected, I, as a responsible and good citizen, am contributing Rs 10 Crore/- as a fund to be used specifically for those families/children, our future youth, who have lost a loved one/breadwinners of their family towards their education expenses." "The contribution will be used specifically for the education expenses of each of the deceased's children, whether in school, high school, or college," his letter stated.

Sukesh Chandrashekhar lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Railways for their prompt action, saying, "It's a very proud feeling to see our government under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister who personally took control of the situation in no time and stood by every single affected one in the mishap and took strong action against those who were responsible for their negligence."

Sukesh further said that his organisations, Sharadha Foundation, Chandrashekhar Cancer Foundation, and LS Education, have helped many sectors in the country's southern states.

Sukesh Chandrashekhar took money from politicians, celebrities, and business owners. He defrauded former Ranbaxy owner Shivinder Mohan Singh's wife Aditi Singh out of Rs 200 crore. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also charged Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez with money laundering.

The Delhi Police detained both Chandrasekhar and his actor wife Leena Maria Paul for their alleged involvement in the case.
