Earlier, the Pakistan Army claimed that the 30-hour hostage situation ended as all 33 BLA militants were killed and hostages were freed. However, the militants killed 21 passengers and 4 paramilitary soldiers.

Digital Desk: The separatist militant group Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed that they killed all 214 hostages. Jeeyand Baloch, a spokesperson of the BLA said that the Pakistani government did not pay attention to its 48-hour ultimatum to exchange war prisoners, which resulted in the execution of 214 hostages, mostly army personnel.

The Baloch insurgents blamed Pakistan authorities for their 'stubbornness' and 'military arrogance'  for not heeding its ultimatum which forced them to kill all the hostages.

In a statement, the BLA said, "Baloch Liberation Army had given the Pakistani army a 48-hour ultimatum to exchange prisoners of war, which was the last chance for the occupying army to save the lives of its personnel. However, Pakistan displaying its traditional stubbornness and military arrogance not only avoided serious negotiations but also turned a blind eye to the ground realities. As a result of this stubbornness all 214 hostages have been executed."

Earlier, the Pakistan Army claimed that the 30-hour hostage situation ended as all 33 BLA militants were killed and hostages were freed. However, the militants killed 21 passengers and 4 paramilitary soldiers.

The nine-coach Jafar Express, carrying around 500 passengers from Quetta to Peshawar, was hijacked by the BLA militants after blowing up a railway track in Pakistan's Mach, southwest Balochistan Province.
