Mumbai: A sessions court in Mumbai, while observing a complaint filed by a woman against her husband, stated that the man cannot be held accountable for his actions inflicted on his wife as he is her husband.

The woman in her complaint alleged that her husband had forced sex with her due to which she suffered paralysis waist down. Additional Sessions judge Sanjashree J Gharat said that the accused “being the husband cannot be said that he committed any illegal thing”.

The court further added that it was “unfortunate” that the young girl had suffered paralysis, but her husband and his entire family cannot be held accountable for the man’s actions, as he is her husband.

Observing this, the judge granted anticipatory bail to the man and his family in the domestic violence case.
