“I live in a one-and-a-half room house in Delhi, which is why I can mess with Modi over the farmers’ issue,” the Governor explained.

Digital Desk:  Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik said that if farmers’ demands are not met, they may resort to violence. “My advice to Delhi is that don’t mess with the farmers; they are dangerous people; I am not afraid of losing my job because for speaking out about the farmers’ issues,” the Meghalaya Governor said at an event in Jodhpur. “Farmers will take whatever they want. They would take it through a fight if it were not given through talks. If not through a fight, they will obtain it through violence,” he added. Further, referring to the year-long uprising against the Centre’s farm laws, Malik said, “They cannot be restrained. They know how to get what they want. If these demands are not met, they will resume their protests.” Satya Pal Malik, who had previously criticized the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for their handling of the farmers’ agitation, claims there was always the risk of receiving a call from Delhi if he mentioned farmers. “I live in a one-and-a-half room house in Delhi, which is why I can mess with Modi over the farmers’ issue,” the Governor explained. “I have no enmity with the Centre, but I can leave my post for the farmers,” he added. Malik reiterated his earlier remark, claiming that they had a five-minute fight when he previously met the PM and talked about the farmers’ issue. “I told him that Sikhs and Jats never forget. So you must send something to them. They had also remembered Indira (Gandhi),” he said in an apparent reference to the former prime minister’s assassination. Earlier this month, he claimed at an event in Haryana that his friends advised him not to criticize the BJP government because he could be appointed President or Vice President if he remained silent. “Doesn’t care about these positions,” Malik said. In January, he claimed that when he met with the Prime Minister for the farmers’ issue, Modi was “arrogant” and got into a fight with him within five minutes. BFC banner
