Bhagyadeep took advantage of this benefit through Assam Government's ground-breaking programme AAROHAN

Digital Desk: A 10th-standard student from Deoriting Tea Estate was given an opportunity to serve as the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Sivasagar district for the day.

Bhagyadeep Rajgarh, a student at Bakta Barbam Higher Secondary School and the son of a tea garden worker from Deoriting in Sivasagar, got a taste of administrative work on July 31 when he symbolically took charge of the administration.

Bhagyadeep took advantage of this benefit through Assam Government's ground-breaking programme AAROHAN.

The AAROHAN scheme was authorised by the Assam Cabinet last year to guide 8750 class IX kids with innate talents for four years up to class XII. Then, chosen people will mentor these children from various public and provincialized schools.

One such programme, called AAROHAN, aims to raise the standard of secondary education by identifying gifted children from poor, rural, and distant families and providing them with mentoring and career-monitoring support.
