Digital Desk: All four accused in the horrible viral video case in violence-stricken Manipur have been remanded to 11-day police custody, according to reports.

At least four people were arrested in connection with the horrible incident in which two women were paraded naked and reportedly gang-raped.

The primary culprit, 32-year-old Huirem Heradas Meitei, a native of Awang Leikai, was reportedly detained a day after the video went viral. On Thursday, the Manipur Police confirmed the arrest of three more suspects, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to four.

According to Manipur police, the video was taken on May 4 in Kangpokpi district in B Phainom village, where both women were allegedly gang-raped after the entire village was burned down. A case of kidnapping, gang rape, and murder was filed against unidentified miscreants at Nongpok Sekmai Police Station.

It should be noted that the Manipur Police is conducting raids and making considerable attempts to apprehend the other suspects as quickly as possible, according to the state police force. The Manipur Police and central forces have set up search operations and checkpoints. In connection with the violations, 129 naka checkpoints have been set up in various districts of Manipur, and 657 people have been apprehended.
