Dubey is set to testify before the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee in relation to his accusations against Moitra...

Digital Desk: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey announced on Sunday that he will observe a "ceasefire until Dussehra on October 24" after repeatedly attacking Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra over "cash for query" allegations.

On October 26, Dubey is set to testify before the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee in relation to his accusations against Moitra that she accepted favors from businessman Darshan Hiranandani in exchange for asking questions in Congress. His accusations have been dismissed by Moitra, who asserts that the Adani Group, which has been the subject of her attacks both inside and outside of Parliament, has directed the BJP to attack her.

Taking to X Dubey a day after taking his complaint of corruption against her to Lokpal wrote, "Due to the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja, I invoke ceasefire from my side from Ashtami today to Dashmi on October 24."

After Dubey and lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai made their accusations, Moitra filed a petition in the Delhi High Court charging the BJP MP with defamation.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has forwarded Dubey's complaint to the Ethics Committee of Parliament.

The CEO of the real estate-to-energy company Hiranandani, Darshan Hiranandani, recently asserted in a signed document that Gautam Adani was the objective of her campaign to "malign and embarrass Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose impeccable reputation gave opposition no opportunity to attack him."

However, Hiranandani's affidavit has come under fire from Moitra, who claims that it was "drafted by the PMO" and that Hiranandani was forced to sign it after being "threatened" with the "total shutdown" of his family's companies.

On Sunday, the Trinamool Congress announced that the party would make a judgment regarding the situation when the parliamentary ethics committee had finished its investigation.
