Digital Desk: Muslim protestors stormed a screening of the controversial Bollywood film "The Kerala Story", which has generated controversy in India amid claims that it destroys "religious harmony."

Reportedly, a group of protesters led by Kashmiri activist Shakeel Afsar disrupted the screening of 'The Kerala Story' at a Cineworld theatre in Birmingham on Friday.

A 10-minute clip posted on the British Muslim news website 5Pillars showed Afsar, 35, with a group of activists entering the theatre and prompting the film to be paused.

In the video, Afsar and at least two other people want to talk with the theatre management about the film's "Islamophobic nature."

The Cineworld staff were compelled to stop the screening as chaos broke out, with audiences seen confronting activists and demanding them to leave, Daily Mail reported.

After the activists were driven out by security, a theatre staff was heard addressing the crowd, "If you want to watch this film, you should calm down first. I am going to resume this film. We're doing our best to deal with it. We have stopped the movie, turned on the lights, and contacted the police."

Last year, Afsar, a businessman and property developer, launched a campaign to pull The Lady of Heaven' from theatres.

He was also banned from protesting outside a primary school in Birmingham in 2019 after protesting against the teaching of LGBT values, according to the Daily Mail.
