President's rule was imposed in Manipur on February 13, following the resignation of Chief Minister N Biren Singh. 

Digital Desk: As the northeastern state of Manipur is currently under the President's rule, the Manipur government announces the transfer of nine senior police officers and five IAS and forest service officers.

According to an official notification, Senapati district Superintendent of Police (SP), Shivanand Surve will take charge of SP of Thoubal district. The police chief of the Kakching Th Vikramjit Singh will now take charge as Commandant of the 10th IRB.

SDPO of Lamlai, Dharmendra Kumar, will take charge as SP of Senapati district, while SP (Immigration) Priyadarshini Laishram will assume charge as SP of Kakching, and SP Thoubal in-charge S Ibomcha will take charge as Commanding Officer of 6th IRB with an additional charge of the Commando Unit SP.

Five IAS and Indian Forest Service officials also received new postings. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests who is also holding the post of the Additional Chief Secretary (Textiles, Commerce, and Industries), Anurag Bajpai has been given additional charge of Tribal Affairs and Hills.

Director of Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency, Naorem Praveen will take charge of Secretary Education- Schools in the state.

President's rule was imposed in Manipur on February 13, following the resignation of Chief Minister N Biren Singh. The ethnic violence erupted in the state between the Meitei and the Kuki community on May 3, 2023, taking the lives of hundreds, and displacing around 60,000 people as of May 3, 2024.
